Schroeder Design/Build is now offering Virtual Planning & Design Consultations
Schroeder Design/Build is taking advantage of modern technology to host virtual consultations, meetings and webinars. Using mainly the Zoom platform, we can:
- Answer your remodeling questions
- Hold your initial consultation virtually. Whereas we would normally come to your home to meet you and walk through your home, we can hold our consultation online and view your home remotely.
- Initiate new projects. There are plenty of things we can do to get started on your project without meeting in person.
- Hold video conferences to keep remodeling projects on track
- Share vital documents and correspondences
- Review site plans and designs
- Share images
- Assist you with materials selections

Joining and Participating in a Virtual Meeting
To assist you in joining and participating in one of our sessions, please refer to some of the most Frequently Asked Questions below:
How Do I Join a Zoom Meeting?
We, as the host of the meeting, will issue an email invitation to join a Zoom meeting. Your invitation will include a link to the meeting, along with a meeting code and participant code. You simply enter these codes as directed once you click on the meeting link.
What About Privacy?
Zoom meetings are private; only those invited to attend are in the meeting.
Do I need a Zoom account?
You do not need a Zoom account if you are simply joining a meeting if someone invites you. You will need to set up an account if you plan to host a meeting. You can sign up at for a free account at zoom.us/signup.
Do I Need a Webcam to Join Zoom Meeting?
You are not required to have a webcam, but you will not be able to transmit video of yourself. After logging in through the Zoom link, you can still listen and speak during the meeting, share your screen and view the host's and other participants' webcams.
What Can I Expect in a Zoom Meeting
Once you are logged into the Zoom meeting, it will be as if you are sitting in a virtual room with the other invitees in the meeting. You will be able to see the other participants and your host in small squares on your screen. Most meetings are set up that when a person is talking, their image becomes larger.
The beauty of these meetings is that we can also share our computer screens with participants. This means we are able to show photographs, images, floor plans, architectural drawings, charts, graphs and whatever else we usually share in person, as if we were actually sitting side by side in front of the screen.
What if I Can't Hear?
Each Zoom meeting link includes a set of telephone numbers by which you can directly call into the meeting, either with your computer screen or without. The ability to call in is also helpful for those who are not in front of their computers.
I'm Getting Audio Feedback
If you have called in to your Zoom meeting, you may need to adjust the audio bar on your computer or device to the lowest setting to avoid duplicate feedback.
